A Huge 3 Day Racing Weekend for UMP Modifieds
A huge racing weekend on tap for the UMP Open Wheel Modifieds! With most area tracks wrapping up their weekly racing shows, here comes an impressive weekend for area UMP Modifieds Drivers.
Beginning Friday night October 12th at the famed Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, IN. The UMP Modifieds will be joining the USAC Sprint Cars for the 2012 running of the “Jim Hurtibise Classic”. NASCAR Ken Schrader will be piloting the Federated Auto Parts #9 for this event. The UMP Open Wheel Modifieds will be running their preliminary heat race events along with a $700 to win 15 lap A-Main event!
On Saturday Night October 13th at the dirt half mile in Terre Haute, the UMP Modifieds will join the USAC TRAXXAS Silver Crown Series running of the “Sumar Classic”. The UMP Mods will again run their preliminary heat race events and a 15 lap A-Main paying $700 to win!
Friday October 12th and Saturday October 13th Gates open at 4pm, Hot Laps at 6pm, Qualifying at 6:30 and Racing action begins at 7:30 (All times are Eastern Standard Time). General Admission Tickets will be $25 each night with Kids 10 and Under FREE with paying adult, Infield Admission is $15!! Then on Sunday October 14th at the picturesque DuQuoin State Fairgrounds dirt mile, the UMP Modifieds will join the ARCA Series for a Sunday at the races. Last years winner, Ken Schrader is on the list of drivers set to do battle in his familiar Federated Auto Parts #9. The UMP Mods will be competing for a $2000 to win A-Main. This will be a day of action packed racing you won’t want to miss!
Pits open Sunday morning at 7 a.m., Practice at 11 a.m., Heat Races at 11:30 a.m. and the A-Main at 1 p.m. Grand Stand Ticket Office will open at 9:30 a.m., Tickets can purchased in advance for $20 at Track Enterprises (217) 764-3200 or DuQuoin State Fair Ticket Office (618) 542-1535 or $25 the day of the event, kids tickets will be $10.
