Cleveland, TN (10/27/12) --- Officials of the Cleveland Speedway wrapped up the 2012 Track Championship Points Saturday night with the SPOOKER Weekend event. The GA Mini Sprints and the Southern Mod Lite Racing series invaded as an added halloween bonus with all racers passing out candy to Trick or Treaters prior to the nights action. Cool temperatures greeted the kids dressed up for a Costume Contest and Bicycle races also involved the fans and families of racers. In the LLM/Crate division former ICE BOWL Champion Bobby Mayse (# 22) of Harrison, TN, proved Spooktacular leading all 25-laps of the A-Main Feature race. Twenty-six teams entered the race with Reuben Mayfield setting fast time in qualifying, clocking a 14:080. Mayfield failed to back-up his fast time in heat race competition when 3rd overall qualifier Devin Dilbeck took the lead and the win. Mayse earned the Cat-Birds Seat start of the Outside Front Row for the feature winning heat #2 over Brandon Williams. Out front as the green flag waved over the feature, Mayse controlled the tempo from the start as newly crowned 2012 Track Champion Jason Welshan and Williams battled for 2nd. Johnny Cloer Jr and Rick Hixson threw their hats in the ring and battled for 4th, but back marker traffic would cause havoc and be the demise of all but Hixson. With Williams, Welshan and Cloer Jr out Hixson set his sights on Dilbeck in 2nd as Mayse continued his leading performance. Dilbeck held off Hixson barely at the line with Heath Hindman and Mayfield in the Top-5.

In the A-Hobby it seemed like Johnny Hughes would wrap up his 2012 Championship with a battle against Robbie Greene after heat race action. Hughes didn't start on the front-row and only made a few laps before pulling in. Greene went on to claim his third win of the season at Cleveland. BJ Wilson attempted to purchase Reagan Williams B-Hobby motor after the checkers flew for their 20-lap feature. Williams refused to sell and was subsequently disqualified, giving Wilson his 1st points win of the season at the track. Points Champion Lee Harbin raced to a 3rd place nod to enhance his 8-win season. The Pony division saw Jon Brogdon drive the Elliott's #J39 to victory. Points Champion Danny Burnette finished 4th leaving his season just 1-shy of a dozen victories in 2012. In the FWD's EJ Bailey made it 3-in-a-Row beating Derrick Forgey. Dylan Cole and Billy Bailey ended the nights action with a wild crashing finish for third under the checkers to put the exclamation point of the 2012 Points season. As an added bonus the GA Mini Sprints brough fourteen of the winged mini wonders to race. Coby Adams (# 28) of Mooresville, NC led the entire 20-laps over Mike Magic and points champion Aubrey Black. The Mod Lites rolled onto the track with 9-starters. KD Knoedler (# 7T) of Vonore, TN led the entire way despite high-side hustles from John Stout and Ross White. The next event will be the Swap Meet and Play Day, Saturday November 10th, one week before the season finale 24th edition of the S.A.S Joe Lee Johnson/Gobbler Saturday, November 17th.
