Dave, that top pic. Could you flat foot that thing around the track?

No way. At Irwindale on the figure 8, you could hit wot at the x. Any sooner and it results in wheel spin. We had great forward bite and fresh tires and had to run a vacuum secondary carburetor. Still had to be careful. A lot of fun.

I was at Irwindale for a special in 2004 or 2005. What a place... Cant believe its closed. It was packed that night and the crowd went wild everytime lugnut came out in his dwarf car! The figure 8 cars looked like some old mods, street stocks and sprint cars. A camaro bodied car blew them away the night I was there!

Good memory on lug nut. I was told by the promoter that the 1/8 mile drag strip made more money than the oval.
Back then there was a mixture of cars. Cali cars slowly got some from back east and got modern. Big difference on specialty built cars.

Sorry to break it to you, but these aren't posting attachments to 4m. These are coming from your Photobucket account. They are just linked to it. if you delete them from Photobucket they'll disappear off of 4m.

I was looking at it as more of a open rules oval car than a figure 8. Guess I am to used to seeing the huge bumpers on the figure 8 cars like they run in Indiana at the national races. Very good looking car.

I understand these are linked to Photobucket. When I click on MANAGE ATTACHMENTS it takes me to the attachment page. The busy icon in the upper right of the screen next to the question mark is running. When I try to click on the ADD FILES button nothing happens. The busy icon is always busy.

Ideas?????????

Thanks for the compliment.

The frame at the front clip area is light and I have 1 3/4 round tube for the bumper to start the crush zone. The car count was real low at Irwindale and ran a limited schedule, so I figured I wouldn't be using the bumper much. I went light as possible past the main cage. The rear clip is 1 3/4 and should bend easily or even tear off if hit hard enough. Spent some time on that possibility.

I like being different and I have the energy to do it. Did I mention my IMCA Stock Car NOVA!
