best mustang carb intake ? and how to identify it

The D4 Oval Port intake in my opinin is the best,especially if you top it off with a 1.5" carb spacer

I've used the D4 oval port intake on an oval port head, and it was the best I've used.

But what's best to use with a D Port head?

i honestly cant answer that...i ran a D-port head for part of a season with a E1 D-port intake and there was just no power there...put the D4 intake and my oval port head back on and had my power back...the heads were identical as far as cam,springs,valves,amount milled off,etc...

now im done racing for awhile...so im selling off everything
so if you need a good D4 intake(untouched casting)with lightweight 1.5" carb spacer...let me know!!!

You can run a d port intake into an oval port, head, but you will have performance problems trying to run an oval intake into a d port head.
