HICKORY, NC – The Carolina Auto Racing Show (CARS) is proud to announce the inaugural DirtMasters Interactive Technical Seminar that will be held Saturday and Sunday January 5-6, 2013 as part of the 2nd Annual Carolina Auto Racing Show, held in Hickory, NC.
Dirtmasters will be hosted by renowned dirt late model veteran Dale McDowell. McDowell will be joined by 2012 World 100 winner Brian Birkhofer and Hall of Fame chassis builder Barry Wright as the teach the fundamentals of dirt late model racing.
“For less than the price of two tires attendees can absolutely learn from some of the most knowledge racers in the industry,” said Promoter Clint Elkins “Dale McDowell has been instrumental in the development of many racers including Austin and Ty Dillon. His knowledge, not only of dirt late model race cars, but also his knowledge of racing in general is second to none.”
McDowell, who drives for Team Dillon Racing in Welcome, NC also owns and operates a very successful driving school. McDowell has been teaching the craft of racing for over 15 years and is recognized as one of the influential drivers in racing today.
Muscatine, IA’s Birkhofer collected his second World 100 victory this past September at Eldora Speedway. To his credit the colorful driver has also won the Dirt Track World Championship, the Show-Me 100, Jackson 100 and has over 170 career victories. Birkhofer has long been known as a ‘hands on’ driver and along with the Mars brothers launched MB Customs a couple of years ago.
Wright will bring a unique perspective to the seminar as the veteran chassis builder/crew chief will share knowledge from his 40+ year racing history. Wright’s cars have won virtually every major dirt late model race in the country and have been one of the hottest cars on the Lucas Oil circuit the last couple of years. Wright’s ability to diagnose handling flaws is legendary in the industry.
DRP Racing will also have their pull-down rig on hand to help understand the latest in dirt racing technology.
The seminar will be held in the Hickory Metro Convention Center. Dirtmasters will be held from 1:00-7:0 PM on Saturday January 5. Sunday’s session will begin at 9:00 AM and will end at 3:00 PM. This will enable attendees to enjoy CARS on Friday and Saturday morning prior to the start of DirtMasters.
DirtMasters will not only teach the fundamentals of racing but will also cover key areas such as; chassis set-up, shocks/springs, front end settings, chassis maintenance, pre-race preparation, race track adjustments, driving tactics and techniques, just to name a few.
