I've heard a carbide tipped drillbit will work, I'd imagine a lot of pressure, and spin it kinda fast, but not fast enough to burn up the bit.

I've also seen a guy punch holes using a regular roll pin punch, and a nut. Set the strap on the nut (usually 1 size bigger than the punch), hold it, and pound hard... looked sketchy to me lol

Just buy the punch! Drill bits may last three holes if your lucky!

came across a bite at lowes that works good concrete bite only cost less than 4 bucks. we tried bit that were for spring steel that never work so tried that concrete bit and drilled like 20 holes with no problem. but punch is the best

The punch is really the way to go. It may seem expensive but it will save you time and money (same thing in my book) in the long run. The only recurring cost is if you break the tip on the bit which can happen but usually from improper use.

The punch is the way to go. It won't wallow like a bit will either.

This one you can punch holes and slots. That's something that can't be done very well with a drill bit. American made, very good tool. I have punched hundreds of slots and it still works perfect.

Buy a good carbide bit, thats what I use.Just let the bit do the work,if you try to force it the carbide will catch and wreck your bit.
