Front Mount Oil Pump?

I know some engines like the SB2's have front mount pumps from NASCAR series', but I wondered if guys were leaving them on the front or changing them over to rear mount, or if it matters much either way? If you leave them on the front, I would think a stone deflector of some sort would be a must, but wanted your guys' opinions.

converted to rear setup. its alot lighter overall that way and puts the weight towards center of car. before around 1997 or so everybody ran em on the front wasn much trouble. i liked it because i could slip the belt off and prime it before starting motor cant do it as easy w rear mount pump. it is worth it to move it back in my opinion but will function fine on front also
