CARTERSVILLE, GA – The Top 10 drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series will be honored at the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Annual Awards Banquet on January 12, 2013 at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame and Thunder Road Museum in Dawsonville, GA. The highlighted driver today is the 6th-Place driver Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS.
Lee accumulated 789 points in 35 races with a Weekly Point Average of 49.21 out of a possible 50, and drove the #47 Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star to five wins. “The General” had three wins at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS, and two wins at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS. Lee also had 29 top five finishes and 35 top ten finishes.
In addition to his success in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National point standings, Lee was also the 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model Champion at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park and Jackson Motor Speedway.
During the 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season, Lee earned points at six different tracks. Lee had 16 starts at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park, ten starts at Jackson Motor Speedway, five starts at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS, four starts at Pike County Speedway, one start at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, and one start at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL.
