Harbaugh Amusement Machine Returns as Title Sponsor for the 2013 Appalachian Mountain Speedweek.

The Appalachian Mountain Speedweek is proud to announce that Bob & Diane Harbaugh through their Martinsburg, West Virginia’s Harbaugh Amusement Machine Incorporated have once again agreed to be the title sponsor for the 5th Annual Appalachian Mountain Speedweek. This year’s edition of the week long mini-series will take the green flag on May 31st and run straight through to June 5th, visiting six different speedways in three different states over the six day grind.

The schedule mimics last year’s with one exception. The Appalachian Mountain Speedweek Presented by Harbaugh Amusement Machine is pleased to announce that it will kick-off its 2013 edition at a new venue for the series, when it visits Potomac Speedway in Budds Creek, Maryland for the first time. The series will then head to “The Capital of Dirt Track Racing” with a stop at Hagerstown Speedway followed by a short trip down Interstate 81 to Greg Gunters’s Winchester Speedway in Winchester Virginia. The Speedweek will then head to the Keystone State for three straight races in Pennsylvania starting off at Rick Jones’s Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex, followed by a trip to Dog Hollow Speedway where last year’s event fell victim to rain with a pit full of some of the best racers in the country in attendance. The Speedweek will finish off on June 5th at the Fabulous Lincoln Speedway where the competitors will not only fight for the prestige of winning the Charlie Grinestaff Memorial but also compete to see who will take home the 2013 Appalachian Mountain Speedweek Championship along with the money and hardware that goes with it.

“This Speedweek would not happen without the generous support from people like Bob, Diane & Duane (Harbaugh)” stated Speedweek Co-founder Kurt Smith. “They are just genuine, super people that want to be a part of this series because of their love for our sport. It is because of the Harbaugh’s along with great supporters like Alan Bradley from Schaeffer Oil, Bob Wirt from HTMA, Bill Funk of SignDesign, Fred from Lias Tire, State Farm Agent Klaudia Chilcoat and many more that allow myself, Jason and everyone involved to organize this week in an effort to get our area drivers recognition with an added purse. I feel we have some of the best drivers in the country racing locally every week. I also want to thank Bob & Diane for displaying their new Harbaugh Motorsports MBH race car piloted by Duane Harbaugh at the recent Dirt-Trackin show in York, Pennsylvania for the series. ” added Kurt.

“It is always hard to put together a schedule that makes everyone happy, but we are really excited about our 2013 tracks.” said Jason Clapper. “All six speedway’s have the potential to put on great races. We are very honored that these tracks think enough of our series to have us back each year and we will try very hard to give each and every one the best show we can” added Clapper.
