Helping someone with an older GRT that has LF16 5/8 & RF17 5/8 lowers. Are both uppers supposed to be 10" mounted inside the uprights? Any other options, changes or otherwise?

our old grt....i think it was an 01 had 10" outside mounted on both tops but after some experiments...mostly because we broke an a arm and we didnt have our (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) spares in the trailer...i'll take the blame for it...we ran an 8.5'' with a 1.5'' spacer on the rf upper with a 25lb stiffer spring and it was much much better when i threw it in the corner low, however, when i was up high i much rather would have had the 10''

there was a couple of night where we did nothing to the car but switch upper lengths and put a different RF spring on when the track started going from high to low or low to high.

Depending on how old your GRT is...The stock upper A Arms were 10", both mounted on the inside of the uprights...this was with the 16 5/8 LF and 17 5/8 RF lowers...We have gone to a 11" LF upper with spacers to give us more adjustability for positive camber and we run a 7 3/4" RF upper with a 19" lower on the RF...The car turns so much better anywhere he wants it to go...

Thanks, most of GRT notes got destroyed by a water leak and the memory on some things just ain't what it used to be.

My old GRT did turn much better with the second frt end Dave listed also.

Nope...We do run Penske mono shocks and the body's are not very big...Also we run threaded upper ball joints as the A Arm gives you more clearance than a bolt in type...

I had no clearance issues using the bolt in upper ball joint and both Integra and AFCO M2 shocks.
