Lake Cumberland Speedway’s 2012 Celebration of Champions Set for Friday March 1
Burnside, KY-February 14, 2013- Lake Cumberland Speedway track promoter Brandon Hardgrove is pleased to announce the championship celebration to officially close out the 2012 race season and get everyone set for the 2013 racing campaign at 3/8 mile clay oval better known as “The House of Hardcore Mayhem”.
On Friday evening March 1, Lake Cumberland Speedway will present its Celebration of Champions for the recently completed 2012 racing season. The 2012 Celebration of Champions activities will take place on Friday evening March 1 and will be held at the Hal Rogers Center for Rural Development in Somerset, KY, which is located at 2292 South Highway 27. The dress for the event is casual. Admission for the evening’s events will be $20 for adults, with children ages 6 to 12 being $10, with children ages 5 and under free.
The events of the evening will include a meal, followed by the recognition of the top ten drivers in the track’s Super Late Model, Modified, Super Dirt Stock, and Front Wheel Drive divisions. There will door prizes and other giveaways as well throughout the evening. The night’s festivities will conclude with the crowning of the Lake Cumberland Speedway 2012 track champions in all four divisions.
Activities for the 2012 Lake Cumberland Speedway Celebration of Champions awards banquet will see honored drivers, guests, and track patrons allowed through the doors to enter the Hal Rogers Center for Rural Development beginning at 6:00 p.m. There will be a meal served beginning at 7:00 p.m., while the celebration of champions and awards ceremony will begin immediately following the meal.
Lake Cumberland Speedway track champions for the 2012 racing season are Johnny Wheeler of Campbellsville, KY in Super Late Models, Tommy Bailey of Corbin, KY in Modifieds, Keith Decker of Somerset, KY in Super Dirt Stocks, and Rusty Light of Nancy, KY in Front Wheel Drives.
Lake Cumberland Speedway is located at 1 Racetrack Road, just outside of Burnside, KY, just past the entrance to General Burnside Island State Park. Brandon Hardgrove is the track promoter and presents dirt track racing entertainment on Saturday evenings. The track is located on Racetrack Road off of US Hwy. 127 South, only about five miles south of Somerset, KY.
