Tenth Annual Winterfest at Winchester Speedway Set for February 23rd, 2013
Winchester, TN (01/30/2013)- Winchester Speedway in Winchester, TN will host the 10th Annual Winterfest event on February 23, 2013, featuring a $3000 to-win 40 lap super late race, along with all divisions racing to kick off the 2013 race season in the mid-state.
February 23rd, 2013 will mark the third year for owners Jimmy and Sharon Nowlin to host the 10th Annual Winterfest event at Winchester Speedway (Winchester, TN). Winterfest has become a kick off to the dirt track racing season in middle Tennessee. 2013 year will be no different as Winchester Speedway sets the stage for 2013 dirt track racing scene by bringing in the south’s best of the best for the 11th Annual Winterfest paying $3000 to-win for the Super Late Models. Past Winterfest Champions include; 2003 Danny Peoples, 2004 Jerry Owens, 2005 Todd Morrow, 2006 Brandon King, 2007, Lamar Scoggins, 2008 Ray Cook, 2009 Billy Mayo, 2011 Tim Busha, and 2012 Corey Posey
Events at Winchester Speedway are set to kick off on Friday February 22, 2013 with an open practice. Gates will open at 3 pm and practice will begin at 4 pm and go to 8 pm. Admission for practice is $10 for general admission and $15 for pit admission.
On Saturday February 23rd, 2013 action will get underway as gates will open at 9 am, cars entering to race must be entered by 12 pm. Drivers meeting will take place at 12 pm and hot laps and racing will follow after the drivers meeting. Classes Racing Will Include Super Late Model, Two Barrel Late Models , Modified Stock, Street Stock, Mini Mod, Mod Lites, Outlaw Pony and Mini Stock
Super Late Models will qualify and run heat races with the top 3 from each group being locked in for the feature, the remaining cars will run heat races to determine starting position for the feature. There will be a $100 entry fee for the super late models and non qualifiers will receive $50 back. All other classes will run heat races to determine starting positions for the feature event. Raceivers will be Mandatory for all classes.
Admission for Saturday’s Wnterfest event will be $17 for Grand Stands, Kids 12 and Under Free and Pit Admission will be $30, Kids 6-12 $10.
