Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and family are mourning the loss of Larry's mother, Vernice, who passed away in the early morning hours on Friday February 15, 2013. Please keep the entire Yantz family in your thoughts and prayers during the difficult time.

BURIAL: Double Springs Cemetery-Waynesburg, Kentucky

Vernice Irvin Yantz, 89, of KY Hwy 328 East in Waynesburg, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at her residence. Born Thursday, November 8, 1923 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Edmund & Dorothy Turner Irvin. She was the widow of the late Enoch Yantz, Sr., who preceded her in death on October 23, 1980. Vernice was a member of Oak Grove Missionary #2 in Goochtown and worked for many years at Cowden’s Manufacturing in Stanford.

Vernice leaves behind two sons, Enoch Yantz, Jr. (Freida) and Larry Yantz both of Waynesburg; one daughter, Christine Hackler (Howell) of Loveland, Ohio; one sister, Doris Acton of Crab Orchard; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe, Bud, Bill, Homer, and Leonard Irvin; and two sisters, Velma Reynolds and Elsie Hendrixson.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00PM Monday, February 18, 2013 at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home with Bro. Howell Hackler officiating the service. Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Dale Perry, Ryan Yantz, Scott Yantz, Nathan Hackler, Tim Yantz, Bryan Hackler, and Chad Yantz will serve as Active Pallbearers.
