Fans to Pick Division Theme Music at Ponderosa Speedway for 2013
Junction City, KY- February 23, 2013- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and track co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz are excited to announce a promotion that will allow the fans to pick the theme music that will be used on race nights at Ponderosa Speedway during the 2013 racing season.
Beginning now and going through March 20, fans can pick the theme music that will be used to introduce each of the track’s five divisions at each racing program prior to that divisions feature event on each race night. For 2013, Ponderosa Speedway will present a five-division racing program each week, consisting of Super Late Models, FASTRAK Late Models, Modifieds, Sportsman, and Front Wheel Drives.
To participate in the voting, race fans have to pick a song for each division and their nominations can be sent in by the following means: 1.) Email to track media consultant Michael Despain at mgdespain@windstream.net; 2.) Visit the Ponderosa Speedway Facebook page and post your vote there; 3.) By replying to the press release that is posted on www.4m.net, www.mrmracing.net (under general racing forum), or on the Eastern KY Racing Message Board site under the Ponderosa Speedway section; 4.) By texting their choice to (270) 572-1227. For nominations to count, individuals must select a different song for each of the five divisions.
Anticipation continues to build for the start of the 2013 at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”. With the first practice date only 33 days away, the track will feature an eighteen event schedule that will see action begin with an open practice event on Friday evening March 29, while the 2013 season opening event to kick off the most anticipated season in the 41 year of the storied facility located on the Boyle/Lincoln border will take place on Friday evening April 5.
As previously mentioned, there will be five divisions of racing competition at Ponderosa Speedway in 2013, featuring Super Late Models, FASTRAK Late Models, Modifieds, Sportsman, and Front Wheel Drives. The weekly racing payout schedule for each division in 2013 will be as follows:
-Super Late Models: 1st- $1,200, 2nd- $600, 3rd- $500, 4th- $400, 5th- $350, 6th- $300, 7th- $250, 8th- $200, 9th- $175, 10th- $150, 11th- $125, 12th through 18th- $100 to start.
-FASTRAK Late Models: 1st- $600, 2nd- $350, 3rd- $300, 4th- 250, 5th- $200, 6th- $175, 7th- $150, 8th- $125, 9th- $100, 10th- $85, 11th through 18th- $75 to start.
-Modifieds: 1st- $600, 2nd- $350, 3rd- $300, 4th- 250, 5th- $200, 6th- $175, 7th- $150, 8th- $125, 9th- $100, 10th- $85, 11th through 18th- $75 to start.
-Sportsman: 1st- $300, 2nd- $200, 3rd- $150, 4th- $125, 5th- $100, 6th- $90, 7th- $80, 8th- $70, 9th- $60, 10th- $55, 11th through 18th- $50 to start.
-Front Wheel Drives: (Four or more entries)- 1st- $200, 2nd- $125, 3rd- $100, 4th- $90, 5th- $80, 6th- $70, 7th- $60, 8th- $55, 9th- $50, 10th- $45, 11th through 18th- $40 to start.
Anticipation is also starting to build toward the first big Super Late Model event of the 2013 campaign at Ponderosa Speedway as Ray Cook’s Schaeffer Oil Spring Nationals visit for the inaugural Spring Showdown on Friday April 19, paying $5,000 to win for Super Late Models, along with FASTRAK Late Models, Modifieds, Sportsman, and Front Wheel Drives all in competition as well. This event is drawing the interest of many racers and should feature several first-time visitors to the track.
