GRT Modified

I recently purchased a 2013 modified and am wondering if anyone out there can answer a couple questions for me. I'm curious as to what amount of shock and spring drops your supposed to have on the birdcages? I can put the shock at 6" and there isnt a whole lot of shaft showing but when I move it to 7" the shock is very close to bottoming out. (This is with GRT's standard drop measurement). Is there a prefered amount of shock and spring drop a car should have to keep it stable and not extremely eratic?

Also I'm curious as to how much if any guys are pre indexing their birdcages at ride height on these cars?
The dealer I purchased the car from suggested running about 1/8" trail aswell and that sounds low compared to what we ran on our other cars (We ran about 1/4"-3/8" previous to this car). Any thoughts?
