CARTERSVILLE, GA – Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL is one of three new tracks in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series for the 2013 season, and becomes the first track in Central Florida to be a part of the series. Bubba Raceway Park also has six NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division races on its 2013 calendar.

Drivers competing in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division on Saturday nights at the 4/10-mile D-shaped clay track will compete against drivers at other NeSmith Chevrolet OMG WRS tracks across the country using a points system based on their best 14 weekly point totals during the 27-week season that runs from March 25 through September 29.

Prior to the beginning of the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series National points chase, Bubba Raceway Park will host a “Pre-Season” race on Saturday night, March 16. The first race for NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series National Points at Bubba Raceway Park will be on Saturday night, April 6.

The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series National Champion will collect $10,000 out of a point fund that will pay back to the Top 10 drivers in the final point standings. Bubba Raceway Park drivers will also compete for a track point fund.

Some of the top NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model competitors expected this season at Bubba Raceway Park include Kyle Bronson of Brandon, FL, Jeff Mathews of Valrico, FL, Ivedent Lloyd Jr. of Ocala, FL, Johnny Collins of Jacksonville, FL, Shan Smith of Dade City, FL, Jason Fitzgerald of Middleburg, FL, Dalton Myers of Riverview, FL, Austin Kirkpatrick of Ocala, FL, and Kenneth Monahan of Lakeland, FL.

The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical Chevrolet Performance Crate Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications. There are two engines to choose from, the 400 horsepower aluminum-head 604 engine and the 350 horsepower steel-head 602 engine that gets a 100-pound weight break.

Bubba Raceway Park will also host six NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring events in 2013. The first five races of the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS season took place at Bubba Raceway Park on January 29-February 2 with the Rock Auto.com Speedweeks Presented by Racecar Engineering that featured a total of 72 entries.

Ronny Lee Hollingsworth of Northport, AL picked up wins in three of the five races, while Kyle Bronson of Brandon, FL and National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame inductee Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN both had one win in the Bubba Raceway Park Rock Auto.com Speedweeks events Presented by Racecar Engineering for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series.

Bubba Raceway Park is also the home of the 9th Annual $10,000-to-win 100-lap Chevrolet Performance World Championship Race for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division on November 21-23. Local favorite Ivedent Lloyd Jr. of Ocala, FL is the defending champion of the Chevrolet Performance World Championship Race.
