Pre-Entry Deadline for $5000 to win NCRA Modified Show This Friday!



FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas - March 10, 2013 - All modified drivers don’t forget that you must have your $100 pre-entry fee turned in and post marked by Friday, March 15th, for the inaugural running of the $5000 to win “Modified Spring Scramble” that will kick off the 2013 race season for the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified division at 81 Speedway in Park City. This special two day event will take place on Friday and Saturday night, April 5-6th.

Yes, you can still enter after the March 15th deadline and even during race day. However, entry fee after the deadline will be $150. Official entry form can be found at www.racencra.com or call the speedway office (316) 755-1781 and give them your information.

As we go to press, fifteen drivers from five states have pre-entered and that number is expected to double early this week with the early pre-entry deadline fast approaching. Among the more notable entries include: Former tour champions Marc Hurd, Brian Powers, Brian Franz and John Allen as well as former modified south series champions Mickey Lassiter and Gene Weaver.

Remember, $5000 to win is on the line for Saturday night’s championship feature winner with all twenty-four drivers making the finale earning $750. And this huge two day event is not based on car count. In fact, what is posted on the flyer is what will be paid out. That includes the following for Saturday night’s finale:

A Feature: 1) $5000, 2) $3000, 3) $2000, 4) $1500, 5) $1000, 6-24) $750

B Feature: 1-5) Transfer to “A,” 6) $500, 7) $450, 8) $400, 9) $350, 10) $300, 11) $250, 12) $200, 13-15) $150, 16-20) $125, 21-24) $100

Last Chance Feature: 1-4) Transfers to “B.” 5-20) $100

Pre entry fee is $100 but MUST BE POST MARKED BY March 15, 2013. Late entry and/or entry on race day is $150.

Itinerary for both nights:

· All cars/drivers must draw for two (2) different heat races

· Passing points will be added together to give you the starting position for Saturday night’s features

· The top fourteen (14) drivers will be locked into the “A” feature with the top ten doing a redraw on Saturday night for starting spots in the 50 lap Championship finale

Official NCRA or USRA rules will be allowed and there is NO MIXING or rules. Gates will open on Friday night at 5:00 pm with racing set for a 7:30 pm start time. Championship Saturday night gates will also open at 5:00 pm with the start time moved to 7:00 pm. There will be an open practice session at the speedway on Thursday night, April 4th.

Since 1971 the NCRA has sanctioned dirt track races across the Great Plains with the series currently sanctioning five other divisions. They include modifieds, southern sport modifieds, late models, 360 sprint cars, 305 sprint cars and new mod lites. The 2013 season for the National Championship Racing Association is the 43rd anniversary season with races scheduled at sixteen different race tracks across Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri.
