FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hiett, Holmes and Rosner eye Southern All Stars Series Rookie of the Year Prize

HUNTSVILLE, AL (March 27, 2013)—Three drivers have announced intentions to compete for what is now the DirtonDirt.com/Cruise with the Champions Rookie of the Year Title.

Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL; Bret Holmes of Munford, AL and Mark Rosner of Rockford, TN have all announced intentions on competing for the title chase as well as the Rookie title.

The DirtonDirt.com/Cruise with the Champions Rookie of the Year will receive $1,000 cash at the Series Awards Banquet on December 21, 2013 at the Bearden Banquet Hall in Knoxville, TN along with receiving a FREE Cruise courtesy of Cindy Knowles of Cruise with the Champions.

All points races will be calculated separate and not utilize the standard race points system that's used to tally the championship points that way all three drivers receive a fair shot at just the Rookie championship as well as the separate series championship.

Jason Hiett, 29, from Oxford, AL is competing in his third full year in Super Late Models with four wins to his career and owns the track’s qualifying record at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Hiett drives the Freestyle Graphix, Timken, Old Man’s Garage, Schaeffer’s Racing Oil and Delph Communications sponsored Vinson Racing Engine powered Warrior Race Car.

Bret Holmes, the second generation 15-year-old driver from Munford, AL is entering his first full season in dirt Late Models. The son of Alabama veteran Stacy Holmes, Bret will compete on the SAS tour for the first time in the Holmes II Excavation and Jackson Mortgage sponsored Cornett Racing Engines powered Barry Wright Race Car.

Mark Rosner, 40, of Rockford, TN is competing in his first full year in a Super Late Model. After competing 27 year in go-carts, Rosner climbed into a Limited Late Model in 2005 and won over 20 events while claiming the Atomic Motor (TN) Speedway track title in 2006 and the Smoky Mountain (TN) Speedway track title in 2007. Rosner drives the J.T Kerr Racing Equipment, Keyser Manufacturing/Port City Racing, Enloe Enterprises and VVE Investments sponsored Stinger Race Car House Car.

Also announced, the 2013 Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series Champion will receive a FREE cruise along with the earnings at the season ending banquet.

The next Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series event is on Saturday April 6th as the SAS gang heads to the high-banks of the ‘Bad Fast Taz’ the Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN for the 50-lap Fourth Annual Charles Trammell Memorial paying $5,000 to win / $300 to start.
