(Senoia, GA) The 3rd Annual Spring Fling 40 for the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models at Senoia Raceway is set for this Saturday, April 6th. The early season event will offer competitors a shot at cashing in on some of the nearly $10,000 in purse money offered by fourth year promoters Tim and Tony Moses. Drivers will vie for the top prize of $1,500 while all drivers starting the main event will receive a guaranteed $100 for taking the initial green flag.

The 3/8ths mile clay track hosts weekly limited late model action. To add to the excitement of the Spring Fling, the Moses have invited the National Late Model Series competitors to join the competition this weekend, but those teams must follow the NLMS rulebook, weigh 2,400 pounds after the race and have thirty pounds mounted in front of the motor plate. The NLMS must also use a maximum 8 inch spoiler with maximum 8 inch sides.

“The Spring Fling has been a great start to the late model season at our track and a few of the National Late Model drivers have shown an interest,” said Tim Moses. “Our weekly competitors combined with the NLMS drivers should create a very good show. I think both cars (weekly limited and NLMS) will be very close on the track. If the competition is good this weekend, this could be something we allow on a regular basis.”

Last season, Senoia’s Joe Armistead, Jr. shot down low early in the race creating a three wide charge down the back stretch of the 3/8ths mile bull ring. He came out unscathed and went on to collect the checkers in front of Kenny Collins and ‘Magic’ Matt Dooley. Two years ago, Lavon Sparks captured the inaugural Spring Fling 40 victory.

Spring Fling racing action will include two lap qualifying and the 40-lap feature for the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models. There is a $60 entry fee for the late models. The Newnan Bonding B Cadets, Summit Racing Equipment Hobby Stocks, Mini Stock, Bombers and Modified Mini will run heats and features.

Pits open at 5pm. Grandstands at 6pm. Hot laps crank up at 7:30pm with racing set to go green at 8pm. Ticket prices will be $12 for adults; $5 for children 6-12 while five and under are admitted for free. Pit passes are $25 for adults; children 4 through 12 are $12; three and under are admitted for free. Trackside Parking and Tailgating is also available on a limited basis and includes access to the pit area. Tickets and wristbands from the Saturday, March 30th rained out event will be honored for admission into the Spring Fling event.
