Ponderosa Speedway’s Schaefer Oil Spring Nationals Spring Showdown Cancelled; Next Race is April 26
Junction City, KY-April 19, 2013- The Ponderosa Speedway track promotion team of Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz have cancelled the scheduled Schaeffer Oil Spring Nationals Spring Showdown at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” due to the extremely wet conditions.
Heavy rains back around midday on Wednesday of this week actually caused parts of the spectator parking and pit area parking area to be flooded and those waters had receded, but the heavy rains in the early morning hours of Friday morning have made the grounds over-saturated with water once again and forced the cancellation of the event. The race will not be rescheduled.
Ponderosa Speedway will return to action on Friday April 26 with a full program of racing action that will see the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models race for $1,500 to win, plus all other divisions will be in competition, with the details for that event to be announced over the weekend. This date was originally scheduled as an off-date for the track, but with back-to-back cancellations because of the wet weather conditions, the track will now present a racing program on Friday April 26.
Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are the track promoters and will present dirt track sports entertainment on Friday evenings from April through mid-October of the 2013 race season.
