Im running a 74 ford courier and I keep on getting it to overheat. My radiator is old and small, where should I look for a good radiator that fits the narrow 74 frame?

I just ordered an aluminum racing radiator from Speedway motors for around 115. You can order whatever width you need.

car62 do those radiators cool really well or something?and biggy72 did your aluminum speedway radiator keep your engine cool and are you running a mechanical fan?

i ran one in my pinto and had to tape off over half the grill....i ran 38 degrees ignition timing,68/69 jets on a 350 carb, and only turned the fan on at the 1st caution of the main events...with a new stock pinto radiator i had to run 36 degrees timing and run the fan all the time and was always right at 220-ish

so yes,the crossflow radiatirs cool much better, and weigh less, and are plentyful

just so you know,it wont be a direct fit,you will have to make mounts, and use the good ribbed flex hose with springs inside it....but it will be worth it in the end.

If you want to wait until tomorrow i can get you the measurements off one of those radiators so you know there will be no issues before you go buy one.

Too bad you dont live close to me,i have about 8 of these radiators

I don't know yet. The new radiator's on it's way. I went looking through the junk yard this last weekend and all I could find were what looked to be single row radiators, but my old one was a dual row so I wanted something similar. The one I ordered is a little larger than my old one, but matches in all other categories. I'm planning on running an electric fan only when I'm idling.

just measured the radiator in the racecar. 18 inches wide, 22 inches tall and 2 (core) inches thick. Even that small of a radiator barely fits between my frame rails
