CARTERSVILLE, GA – After his third NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model win of the season in Week 5 action, Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS remains on top of the point standings. Arnold took his second straight win on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA driving the Reynolds Motorsports/Billy Riels Racing GRT.

Three-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS is second in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings after a fourth-place finish on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS driving the Lee Racing Trak-Star.

Arnold, with 244 points after three wins, six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in eight races, now holds a six point lead over Keeton with 238 points. Keeton has six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in seven NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series races.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings. Lee has 235 points with his best Week 5 finish of second on Friday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving the Billy Riels Racing GRT. Lee has one win and seven top five finishes in eight races.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS also had his best NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 5 finish on Friday night at Jackson Motor Speedway with a fifth-place effort in the Villa South Trak-Star. Scarbrough is fourth in the standings with 232 points after one win, three top five finishes and six top ten finishes in six races.

Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA and Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS are tied for the fifth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 227 points apiece. Trosclair finished seventh on Friday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in the Sparks Motorsports Special, and Daspit has a fourth-place finish on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway.

Trosclair has one win, five top five finishes, and six top ten finishes in seven races, while Daspit has five top five finishes in five starts driving the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star. Derrick Mackmer of Purvis, MS is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 219 points. Mackmer has two top five finishes and six top ten finishes in seven starts driving the Mackmer Home Buyers Special.

Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL drove the Zaxby’s Rocket to his third straight NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series win on Saturday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL and moved up to eighth in the standings with 199 points. Dudley has three wins and one second-place finish in four starts.

Owen Stockstill of Purvis, MS is ninth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 177 points after one win, two top five finishes, and three top ten finishes in five starts driving the Stockstill Trucking Trak-Star. Tim Dees of Meridian, MS rounds out the top ten in the standings with 176 points after one top five finish and two ten finishes in four races driving the Dees Motorsports GRT.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 5 action, Randy Boyd of Marion, MS drove the Coca-Cola Trak-Star to his third straight win at Whynot Motorsports Park on Saturday night. Neil Lee of Flowood, MS took his first win of the season on Friday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in the JWH Equipment GRT.

Cody Smith of Holt, FL was the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model winner on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL driving the Smith’s Performance Rocket. Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, FL won the season opener on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS driving the MP Trucking Trak-Star.

Mother Nature had her share of Week 5 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series wins. Week 5 rainouts were Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR on Friday night, plus Saturday night races scheduled for Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX, Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, and West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO.

Boyd and Palasini gave two-time champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL their seventh and eighth NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series wins of the 2013 season, and they remain the leader of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge standings.

With Week 5 wins from Arnold and Neil Lee, gave four-time and defending NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Champ GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR their fifth and sixth wins of the season and the second spot in the standings. Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV is third after Dudley and Smith gave them their fourth and fifth wins of the season.

Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is in the fourth spot with one win in the first five weeks of the 2013 season. Stinger Race Cars built by J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment of Rockford, TN, TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN, and CVR Race Cars of Lenoir City, TN are also participating in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge.
