Ponderosa Speedway Announces Updates for Sportsman and Front Wheel Drive Divisions

Junction City, KY- April 29, 2013- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz would like to make an announcement concerning some updates for the D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman and Airport Road Salvage Yard Front Wheel Drives divisions effective immediately.

For the D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman, beginning this Friday May 3 and effective the remainder of the season, no chemical alterations or chemical enhancements will be allowed to the tires on any corner of the race cars. In other words, no chemical additives or “chemical prepping” will be allowed.

For the Front Wheel Drive division, the division will know be known as the Airport Road Salvage Yard Four Cylinder division, with stock four cylinder rear-wheel drive cars also now eligible to compete beginning this Friday May 3 and effective the remainder of the season. This is being done in an attempt to grow this division from the three cars per event that has been seen so far this season.

The next event for Ponderosa Speedway will take place Friday May 3 and will feature all five weekly divisions in competition. The Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models will race 25 laps for $1,200 to win, while the Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds will race 20 laps for $600 to win. Also in action at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday May 3 will be the Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models racing 20 laps for $600 to win,k the D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman racing 15 laps for $300 to win, and the Airport Road Salvage Yard Four Cylinders racing 10 laps for $200 to win (four car minimum). RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and racers will need to have them in use every time they are on the racing surface and can be rented from the track at driver registration.

The A-Main payoff schedule for the Friday May 3 event at Ponderosa Speedway will be as follows:
-Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models (25 laps): 1st- $1,200, 2nd- $600, 3rd- $500, 4th- $400, 5th- $350, 6th- $300, 7th- $250, 8th- $200, 9th- $175, 10th- $150, 11th- $125, 12th through 18th- $100 to start.
-Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models (20 laps): 1st- $600, 2nd- $350, 3rd- $300, 4th- 250, 5th- $200, 6th- $175, 7th- $150, 8th- $125, 9th- $100, 10th- $85, 11th through 18th- $75 to start.
-Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds (20 laps): 1st- $600, 2nd- $350, 3rd- $300, 4th- 250, 5th- $200, 6th- $175, 7th- $150, 8th- $125, 9th- $100, 10th- $85, 11th through 18th- $75 to start.
-D&D Pallet Sportsman (15 laps): 1st- $300, 2nd- $200, 3rd- $150, 4th- $125, 5th- $100, 6th- $90, 7th- $80, 8th- $70, 9th- $60, 10th- $55, 11th through 18th- $50 to start.
-Airport Road Salvage Yard Four Cylinders (10 laps): (Four or more entries)- 1st- $200, 2nd- $125, 3rd- $100, 4th- $90, 5th- $80, 6th- $70, 7th- $60, 8th- $55, 9th- $50, 10th- $45, 11th through 18th- $40 to start.

Activities for the Friday May 3 event at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. A mandatory drivers meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 7:20 p.m. Bob Allen Motor Mall time trials will commence at 7:45 p.m., with the first race getting the green flag at 8:30 p.m. All times listed are EDT. Ticket prices for the May 3 event in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, while children ages 5 and under are FREE with a paid adult. A pit pass will be $30.

Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are the track promoters and will present dirt track sports entertainment on Friday evenings from April through mid-October of the 2013 race season.
