I am looking to add a little insurance to my classic V-belt system. I have a one to one double groove V-belt set up now on a SBC, w/ short water pump, Afco style PS pump, 19" 4 blade fan and an old 'Shogun alternator'. Pump gas - no big hp. Engine runs cool if the belts are tight.
If possible I would like to try adding a HTD, Gilmer or serpentine belt along with the V-belts for insurance when one belt slips or throws.
Any economical suggestions? Adjustable spacing for different blocks might be nice with affordable belt options.
- Mid-eighties GM dual V and flat belt pulley's?
- Mix and match speedway stuff > http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Small-Block-Chevy-Short-Water-Pump-HTD-Drive-Kit,31600.html
- IMCA kit > http://www.jonesracingproducts.com/kits.html#1035-S
Thanks
