CARTERSVILLE, GA – Scott Dedwylder of Vossburg, MS had a perfect Week 7 in NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model action with two wins, and the Billy Riels Racing Team now holds the top three spot in the point standings with Michael Arnold continuing to lead followed by Shannon Lee and Noah Daspit.

Dedwylder took NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series wins on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, and on Saturday night at West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO driving the Jerry Inmon Racing Special for the 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Champion Chase Washington of Houlka, MS.

Dedwylder is filling in for Washington, who is on the mend after undergoing recent major surgery to remove a cancerous growth in his small intestine. Washington reports the surgery was successful, and he is expected to make a full recovery.

Arnold finished third on Saturday night in the Reynolds Motorsports/Billy Riels Racing GRT at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL to give the Hattiesburg, MS driver a total of 341 points to lead the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings. The “Hattiesburg Hustler” has three wins, eight top five finishes and nine top ten finishes in ten starts.

Lee is second in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings, 11 points behind Arnold. The Lumberton, MS driver finished fourth on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS driving the Billy Riels Racing GRT. “The General” has 330 points after one win, and nine top five finishes in ten races.

Daspit picked up his second straight NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series win on Saturday night, as the Kiln, MS driver drove his Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star to the victory at Southern Raceway. That moved Daspit up to third in the standings with 327 points after two wins, and seven top five finishes in seven starts.

Derrick Mackmer of Purvis, MS and Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS are tied for the fourth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 305 points apiece.

Mackmer finished tenth on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in the Mackmer Home Buyers Special. Mackmer has two top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in nine races. Scarbrough finished third on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in the Villa South Trak-Star. The “Florence Flash” has one win, four top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in eight events.

Three-time West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS did not compete in Week 7 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series action and fell from third to sixth in the standings with 279 points. Keeton has six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in eight starts driving the Lee Racing Trak-Star.

Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL drove the Zaxby’s Rocket to his fourth straight NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model win of the season at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL. That moved Dudley up to the seventh spot in the standings with 249 points. In five starts, Dudley has four wins and one second-place finish.

Doug Sanchagrin of Florence, MS is eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 237 points after a ninth-place finish on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in the Permanent Exterior Solutions Trak-Star. Sanchagrin has four top ten finishes in six starts.

Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA did not compete in Week 7 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series competition and fell to the ninth spot in the standings with 227 points. “Louisiana Fast” has one win, five top finishes and six top ten finishes in seven races driving the Sparks Motorsports/J. Dunning Sandblasting and Paint Special.

Brent Barrett of Cleveland, MS climbed into the tenth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 226 points. Barrett drove the Custom Spraying GRT to a fourth-place finish on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway. Barrett has two top five finishes and six top ten finishes in six races.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 7 action, the 2010 East Region Champion Chase Edge of LaFayette, AL drove the Edge’s Gas Company Special to his first win of the season on Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL. Tait Davenport of Benton, KY took his second win of the season on Saturday night at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN driving the Murtco, Inc. Special.

Ross Camponova of Clarksdale, MS grabbed his first NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway driving the Camponova Racing Special. Josh Adkins of Talladega, AL was also a first-time winner for the 2013 season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the Yellow Hammer Construction Special.

Mother Nature still had a presence in Week 7 of the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season, washing out five races. Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS had their third straight rainout on Friday night.

Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 7 rainout were at Battleground Speedway in Highland, TX, Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.

Daspit gave two-time champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL their 11th NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series wins of the 2013 season, and they remain the leader of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge standings.

Four-time and defending NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Champ GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR and Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV are tied for the second spot, as Dudley gave Rocket their sixth win of the 2013 season. Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is in the fourth spot with one win.

Stinger Race Cars built by J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment of Rockford, TN, TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN, and CVR Race Cars of Lenoir City, TN are also participating in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge.
