CARTERSVILLE, GA – Calvin Cook of Pace, FL picked up the $1,000 top prize in the 30-lap main event for the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division on Saturday night at Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL driving the Foam Seal Insulation Chevrolet. Trey Bright of Coker, AL finished second and took over the point lead after Week 7 competition.

Cook was in the middle of a three and four-wide battle for second during most of the race. That battle ended up being for the lead in the closing laps, and Cook took the lead coming off the fourth turn to the checkered flag. Cook won the race with a $3,195 Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine.

Bright drove the AKA Cores Chevrolet to the second spot in the blanket finish and brought his 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point total to 291 at the top of the list. Bright has three wins, five top five finishes and six top ten finishes in six starts. Bright has a one-point lead in the standings over Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL.

Spears finished fourth on Saturday night at Moulton Speedway driving the Bass Sports Online Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine. Spears now has 690 points after three wins, five top five finishes and six top ten finishes in six starts to hold the second spot in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings.

Another Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine car sits third in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings driven by Dave Nations of Raymond, MS with 284 points. Nations finished sixth on Saturday night at Moulton Speedway driving the Street Stock Set Up Specialists Chevrolet. Nations has one win, four top five finishes, and six top ten finishes in six races.

Jerrod Fremin of Montz, LA and Chad Hiers of Ocean Springs, MS were first and second respectively in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings going into Week 7 competition, but neither driver competed over the weekend and dropped back to the fourth and fifth spot.

Fremin has 254 points after one win, four top five finishes and six top ten finishes in six races driving the Fremin Racing Chevrolet. Hiers has 243 points after three top five finishes and five top ten finishes in the Hiers Construction Chevrolet.

With two rainouts out of the three scheduled NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 7 races, positions six through ten going into the weekend remain the same. Wayne Medders of Morton, MS is sixth with 226 points after two top five finishes and four top ten finishes in six races driving the Medders Construction Chevrolet.

Stacy Herron of Kiln, MS is seventh in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 213 points after three top five finishes and four top ten finishes in five starts driving the S&B Contracting Chevrolet. Eddie Willis of Saucier, MS is eighth with 208 points after driving the Willis Racing Chevrolet to one win, three top five finishes and four top ten finishes in five events.

Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS is ninth with 201 points in the American Portable Buildings Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine after two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in five races. Roger Flynn of Denham Springs, LA rounds out the top ten of the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 190 points after four wins in four starts driving the Flynn Racing Chevrolet.

Saturday night NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division action at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, MS and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS was rained out. A total of 134 different drivers have earned points in the first six weeks of NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division competition.
