CARTERSVILLE, GA – Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS drove the Reynolds Motorsports/Billy Riels Racing GRT to his fourth NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model win on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS to remain the point leader after Week 8 competition.

Arnold now holds a 12-point lead over his teammate Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS. Arnold has 391 points after four wins, ten top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 12 races. Lee has 379 points after one win, and 11 top five finishes in 12 races driving the Billy Riels Racing GRT. Lee finished second on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS.

A third member of the Billy Riels Racing Team, Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS, took his third win of the season on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA in the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star. Daspit is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 375 points after three wins, and nine top five finishes in nine starts.

Derrick Mackmer of Purvis, MS is fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 351 points after three top five finishes and nine top ten finishes in 11 starts driving the Mackmer Home Buyers Special. Mackmer finished fifth on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS finished seventh on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in the Villa South Trak-Star, and is fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 349 points. Scarbrough has one win, four top five finishes and nine top ten finishes in ten races.

Three-time West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS is sixth with 320 points after six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in nine races driving the Lee Motorsports Trak-Star.

Doug Sanchagrin of Florence, MS is seventh in the standings with 280 points driving the Permanent Exterior Solutions Trak-Star to an eighth-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park for his fifth top ten finish in eight NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series starts.

Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA and Brent Barrett of Cleveland, MS are tied for the eighth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 275 points apiece. Trosclair is technically ahead on the tiebreaker with one win so far this season. Trosclair finished third on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in the Sparks Motorsports Special.

Trosclair has one win, six top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in nine races. Barrett drove the Custom Spraying GRT to a second-place finish on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS and now has three top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in seven NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series races.

Owen Stockstill of Purvis, MS rounds out the top ten in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 269 points. Stockstill finished sixth on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in the Stockstill Trucking Trak-Star. Stockstill has one win, three top five finishes and six top ten finishes in eight starts.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 8 action, Scott Dedwylder of Vossburg, MS drove Chase Washington’s Jerry Inmon Racing Special to his third straight win on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park. Two-time West Region Champion Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS picked up his second straight win on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in the McDuffie Racing Trak-Star.

Jeff Mathews of Valrico, FL collected his second straight NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series win on Saturday night at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL driving the CURS Warrior.

Ricky Waggoner of Martin, TN picked up his NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series third win of the season on Saturday night at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN driving the Taylormade Performance Special. Waggoner was awarded the victory after the left-rear tire on the Murtco, Inc. Special of Benton, KY’s Tait Davenport failed the post-race inspection.

Randy Polk of Milton, FL in the Lucas Farms Trak-Star was another driver that was awarded a NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series win in the tech area at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL on Saturday night after the left-tire on the Airport Sports Center Special driven by Stephen Brantley of Monroeville, AL failed the post-race inspection.

Chris Holley of Houston, TX drove the Holley Racing Special to his third NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Saturday night at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX. Greg Fore of Greenville, MS took his first win in his first start of the season on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway driving the Fedrick Racing Special.

Chandler Petty of Austin, AR took his second win in his second NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series start of the season on Saturday night at West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO driving the Whistle Stop Barbeque Rocket.

Week 8 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Saturday night events at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL were both rained out.

Wins by Daspit, Polk and McDuffie brought two-time champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL their 12th, 13th, and 14th NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series wins of the 2013 season, and they remain the leader of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge standings.

Four-time and defending NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Champ GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR and Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV are tied for the second spot, as Arnold gave GRT their seventh win of the season and Petty gave Rocket their seventh win of the season.

Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is in the fourth spot after Mathews gave them their second win of the season. Stinger Race Cars built by J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment of Rockford, TN, TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN, and CVR Race Cars of Lenoir City, TN are also participating in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge.

After eight weeks of NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series competition, a total of 247 different drivers have earned points. The complete NeSmith Chevrolet OMG WRS point standings are posted on the NeSmith Chevrolet OMG WRS web site at www.nesmithracing.com.
