CARTERSVILLE, GA – Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS has signed on for the rest of the 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division season, beginning this Friday night with Week 9 competition. Hattiesburg Motorsports Park operates weekly on Friday nights, and becomes the sixth track to be sanctioned by the NeSmith Street Stock Division.
Week 9 of the 27-week 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division season will see six races on the schedule of events, with one event on Friday night, four events on Saturday night and one event on Sunday night. Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL and Trey Bright of Coker, AL are tied for the point lead with 340 points apiece.
The NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Saturday night Week 9 races will be held at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS will host the NeSmith Street Stocks on Sunday night.
With late Week 8 results coming in from St. Tammany Raceway, the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings have been adjust to reflect that event. Dave Nations of Raymond, MS is third with 331 points, and Chad Hiers is fourth with 292 points after a second-place finish last Saturday night at Tammany Raceway in the Hiers Construction Chevrolet.
Wayne Medders of Morton, MS is fifth in the NeSmith Performance Street Stock Division standings with 268 points. Stacy Herron of Kiln, MS is sixth with 259 points after finishing fifth last Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in the S&B Contracting Chevrolet.
Eddie Willis of Saucier, MS finished fourth at St. Tammany Raceway last Saturday night in the Willis Racing Chevrolet, and holds the seventh spot in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 255 points. Jerrod Fremin of Montz, LA is eighth with 254 points, and Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS is ninth with 244 points.
Roger Flynn of Denham Springs, LA remains “Mr. Perfect” in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stocks Division, as he posted his fifth win in his fifth start of the season on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway driving the Flynn Racing Chevrolet. Flynn rounds out the top ten in the standings with 240 points.
Drivers that race at NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals during the 27-week season that runs through September 29. The 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division champion will pocket $2,000 and the National point fund pays back to the Top 10 drivers at the end of the season.
