Mother Nature Intervenes at Ponderosa Speedway May 31; Weekend Warrior 30 Reset for June 14

Junction City, KY-May 31, 2013- For the fifth time this race season, Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and track co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz were forced to have to cancel the racing program, the 3rd Annual Weekend Warrior 30, due to rain.

Just as the pit gates were set to open at 4:00 p.m., rain began falling at the track and picked up in intensity around 4:30 p.m., before heavy rains moved over the grounds around 5:00 p.m., forcing track officials to have the cancel the race program at 5:15 p.m. The track itself was saturated with water at this point, with water standing around the inside edge of the racing surface.

The Weekend Warrior 30 for the D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman division has been reset once again, now scheduled for Friday June 14. The Sportsman division will race for $800 to win that evening, along with a full racing program for the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Smith Automotive Machine FASTRAK Late Models, Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds, and Airport Road Salvage Yard Four Cylinders.

The Weekend Warrior 30 will now be the next event at Ponderosa Speedway, as the track was already scheduled to be off on Friday June 7 for the Dream 100.

Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY.
