Max Blair Wins $2,000 for the FASTRAK Sweeney Northeast “VIVA-LA 30” at Tyler County

**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE** May 31st, 2013 FASTRAK PR

(Middlebourne, West Virginia) – The Sweeney Cars FASTRAK NORTHEAST Dirt Late Model Touring Series completed two action packed nights of racing at The New Tyler County Speedway “THE BULLRING”.

After Mother Nature decided on Thursday there wasn’t going to be a practice, that never stopped John Watson and crew from the determination of making this great event. With all the work that had to be done is such a short time, track preparation, stocking the concession stands, and making sure things were perfect, these guys were ahead of the game.

The Sweeney FASTRAK Northeast Late Models took the track to qualify during their hot lap session, and man were they on top of their game. Qualifying in groups of 4 cars at a time on the BULLRING was something to see on its own. Out of group one the fastest car was the 111 of Max Blair. Group two was the 23 of Derek Rogers. Group three was the 88 of Chad Greene. Group 4 was the 18 of Chris Carpenter., which would be the fastest time of the night with a 13.487. Group 5 was the 0 of Daniel Hill.

When the sun went down is when the action got hot. When the first heat race went green it never stopped until the checkered flag fell. Chris Carpenter would end up overtaking Danny Thomas in the end by well over a three car advantage.

Heat two would be no different, with another caution free heat race, where one of the guys who are well known at the BULLRING would take the checkered flag. Kyle Thomas would finish with a little over two car length advantage in front of Brandon McGrady.

Heat three would be the completion of a perfect night of heat races, with yet another caution free heat race. This one would go to the current touring point leader, and defending FASTRAK World Championship winner, Mad Max Blair. Blair had to earn this win by overtaking the first place position from the entire field. . This was one of the most intense heats of the night, as for the first lap was side by side all through the pack. When the flag fell it would be Blair taking the first position over the 23 of Derek Rogers.

Night two would end up being as exciting as the first night. The fired started out with Chris Carpenter at the point that was shortly lived as the rest of the field was just as anxious for the $2,000 payday. The field was fired up and ready for action. Kyle Thomas would jump ahead in the early running to later end up with the brakes locking up on his car causing him to finish in the 12th position. Chris Carpenter would try to make his way to the lead position, but with Blair and Thomas it wasn’t going to be an easy task. The entire field was side by side at sometimes even three and four wide. The 101 of Jessie Wisecarver would maintain his 7th place starting spot after climbing out of a modified and straight into a FASTRAK Late Model. Donnie Dotson would move up from his 14th starting spot to the 6th position. The 77 of Joel Prosser would move from his 17th starting spot to finish in the 11th position. Boz Daugherty would come through the field and finish in the 4th position from the 20th starting position. FASTRAK touring series racer Troy Shields would come through the wide open field to finish in the 3rd position from the 11th starting spot. The race was very intense, said Brian Haynes of FASTRAK Companies International. There were people all over the track, at any given time you better be watching the whole field not to miss anything. As the laps started winding down it would be Max Blair taking the final lap and the $2,000 payday. The top five were as follows: 1.Max Blair, 2.Chris Carpenter, 3.Troy Shields, 4.Boz Daugherty, and rounding out the top five was Danny Thomas.
