Weekley Electric of Newark, OH Signs On As Title Sponsor of the “Icon Memorial Tour” Late Model Speedweek!
(Middlebourne, WV) Officials from the EDGE are overjoyed to announce more exciting news as the Inaugural ‘Icon Memorial Tour’ Late Model Speedweek presented by Weekley Electric continues to approach, June 13th – 16th! EDGE Officials are proud to inform it’s fans and followers that they have inked a deal with Central Ohio’s premier electrical contractor, Weekley Electric of Newark. The deal established will make Weekley Electric the TITLE SPONSOR of the inaugural ‘Icon Tour’ Speedweek that is getting set for the nostalgic four day weekend of Super Late Model racing at four venues in three states including; Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV, Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, OH, Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway in Imperial, PA, and West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, WV. Each night will see the powerful full bodied dirt Late Model division race for a $4,000 top prize as well a prestigious event title and valuable points in earning the weekends Speedweek crown and pocket a cool $1000 cash bonus.
In addition, a $100 FAST TIME BONUS has been added to each race nights program! Through the format the top six qualifiers each night will automatically enter a “Helmet Dash” with an inverted format meaning the fastest time will start sixth in the 6-8 lap dash but they will now earn a $100 cash bonus for their field topping quick time effort. The fastest qualifier will also autograph two Weekley Electric logo t-shirts each race night to be tossed into the grandstands prior to the evenings A-Main.

Race fans continue gearing up for this years “Racecation” today to join in all the fun of the inaugural Icon Memorial Tour, June 13th through the 16th. The unique twist to the traditional ‘speedweek’ will see racers compete for a chance at the four prestigious event titles which pay tribute to some of the regions most recognized names and military heroes including the 25th Earl Hill Memorial, the Freedom Fighters 40 flagusa:, the Herb Scott Memorial, & the Mark Balzano Memorial. Joining the weekend long activities will also be the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour “Duel on Dirt” Speedweek that will pay a generous $1200 to win and $150 to start while showcasing some of the east’s best open wheel modified wheelmen, in addition a $500 bonus bounty is on the line for any modified racer to attend and win that is not currently inside the top ten in Renegade point standings.
