CARTERSVILLE, GA – With five races on the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 11 schedule, Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL and Trey Bright of Coker, AL will continue their back and forth battle for the point lead. Spears and Bright have traded the point lead three times in as many weeks, and going into Week 11, Spears holds a one-point lead over Bright.
NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 11 action gets underway on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS. Saturday night Week 11 races will be held at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.
Spears has 437 points at the top of the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings, one digit ahead of Bright, who has 436 points in the second spot. Dave Nations of Raymond, MS is well within striking distance in the third spot with 428 points. Chad Hiers of Ocean Springs, MS is fourth with 379 points, and Wayne Medders of Morton, MS is fifth with 358 points.
Stacy Herron of Kiln, MS is sixth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 348 points and Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS is seventh with 337 points. Eddie Willis of Saucier, MS holds down the eighth spot with 298 points and Jerrod Fremin of Montz, LA is ninth with 295 points.
Roger Flynn of Denham Springs, LA rounds out the top ten in the standings with 290 points, but he is still one to watch in the coming weeks. Flynn has won six of his seven starts in the first ten weeks of NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division competition, and he finished fifth in the race he did not win.
Drivers that race at NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals during the 27-week season that runs through September 29. The 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division champion will pocket $2,000 and the National point fund pays back to the Top 10 drivers at the end of the season.
