Beckley Motorsport Park 2nd Annual Black Gold 50 Super Late Model Weekend.
The 2nd Annual Black Gold 50 Super Late Model Weekend, sponsored by Little General will take place on June 14th and 15th, 2013 at Beckley Motorsports Park—a high dollar racing extravaganza honoring all West Virginia coal miners and their families.
Coal mining has been a part of West Virginia since the states’ beginning in 1863. This event is a tribute honoring and remembering all coal miners, their families, and everyone involved in t he coal mining industry in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia.
Beckley is expecting a huge car count and a massive fan turnout for the unsanctioned $10,000-to-win 50-lap feature. Beckley also guarantees $400 to each starter with $500 for 17th and $700 for tenth; making it one of the highest paying unsanctioned super late model events in the region. The Friday night show features a $2,000 to win show and $200 to start for Late Models.

Last year the event brought out not only a large contingent of local drivers, but also drivers from throughout West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee and Georgia. Zack Dohm of Cross lanes, WV collected $10,000 in the biggest win of his career. The rest of the top 12 finishers included (2)Harold Redman Jr.(3)Dale McDowell(4) Ricky Williams(5) Eddie Carrier, Jr.(6) Jared Miley(7) David Watts(8) Rod Conley(9) Butch McGill(10) Mike Benedum(11) Jared Hawkins and (12)Henry Hornsby.
Beckley Motorsports Park is a 3/8 mile, high banked clay oval located in the southern mountains of Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. At an elevation of 2300 feet, the facility offers free camping with no hookups and great Friday night racing. The track features Kryptonite AMRA Late Models, Octane AMRA Modifieds, FASTRAK Crate Late Models, Hornets, Outlaw Modifieds, and Street Stocks.
