Just got a skyrocket that is 4 bar with the spring and coilover behind the rearend and the shock in front with the shock mount made to a weight jack, what advantage would the shock on the weight jack make for adjustments.

allows you to prevent topping out the shock when car is hiked up...assuming that the car has something to limit lr drop other than shock. If there's nothing else to limit lr drop besides the shock, then the jack bolt allows you to adjust how far lr will drop before the shock tops out. If the latter is true, I'd recommend adding a chain to limit travel vs using the shock as the limiting device.

Are they trying to use the shock as a travel limiter? The weight jacker made it adjustable?

Yea I run a chain limiter on the lr, just my old car just had to plain shock mounts one in front and one behind the rearend, was just wondering how the weight jack on the shock mount would effect handling and setup.

It's probably cheaper and faster with the weight jack than it is to change out shock extensions when you move the bars/change drop. Keep the chain and shock weight jack. Call Kelly and get a book

Must be an older Skyrocket because the newer ones don't use a chain. They have a piece of plastic that sits on top of the LR under rail to limit the rearend.

set the chain....I always ran 20-20 1/2"....extend jack bolt until shock is tight then back it down(compress) 8 turns

Yes I know Jeff, but we IMCA racers are the minority on this board. And since he didn't say where he was racing. That's why I didn't mention it.

I got lost here is it the chain limiter or the plastic block that imca has outlawed?

I think they are talking about the plastic block. Dumb rule either way.
