Josh McGuire Back in Victory Lane at Skyline Speedway; Beckley Double Dip Next!

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire and his #41 JMR team celebrated in victory lane for the second time in 2013 on Friday night, June 7 at Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio! Josh, who enjoys an unbelievable win percentage throughout his career at Skyline, started his night off by posting the third quickest lap during the qualifying session and winning his heat race. After starting third on the grid in the 25-lapper, Josh grabbed the point on lap two and drove away from the field en route to the $1,500 triumph. The Grayson, Kentucky ace nabbed the first place prize money by besting Rod Conley, Freddie Carpenter, Chris Garnes, and Travis Brookover!

The dirt-slinging action quickly shifted to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday evening, June 8 for a regular weekly show, which boasted a $2,000 top prize. Josh laid down the fastest lap during time trials and later won his heat race to earn the pole position for the main event. "Bad Fast" was then battling Jackie Boggs for the lead in the A-Main when he broke a j-bar and driveshaft, which caused him to retire with heavy damage in the fifteenth position. Full results from both weekend races can be accessed online at www.skylinespeedway.net and www.portsraceway.com.

“I really enjoy racing at Skyline and for whatever reason, I seem to have a lot of success at that place,” quoted McGuire, who is sponsored by DJ's Kitchen Corner, Henry Consulting, Inc. (HCI), Performance Rod & Custom (PRC), GCP Race Engines, JMR Chassis, Ashland Specialty, K&E Trucking, and Budda – Bert Transmission Sales & Service. “Our car performed really well and it felt great to get back into victory lane – it had been awhile. I thought we had a shot at it again on Saturday at Portsmouth, but we broke while racing Jackie (Boggs) for the lead. We will get everything fixed on the car and head over to Beckley this weekend for their big two-day show.”

The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team will now turn their focus to the 2nd Annual ‘Black Gold 50’ weekend at Beckley Motorsports Park in Prosperity, West Virginia on June 14-15. The unsanctioned weekend will be headlined by a $2,000 to win Super Late Model event on Friday night, while Saturday’s showdown at Beckley will pay $10,000 to the winner in a 50-lapper. Additional information on the doubleheader at Beckley Motorsports Park can be viewed by clicking on www.beckleymotorsports.com.
