Conley’s Continue Strong 2013 Season; Diverse Weekend Schedule Ahead

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) R.J. Conley and his #71c team invaded the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 6-8 for the 19th Annual 'Dirt Late Model Dream.' The new expanded race format kicked off on Thursday and Friday with Twin 25s at the "Big E." On Thursday night, R.J. ran fifth in his heat race, won his B-Main, and later posted a seventeenth place finish in the $2,500 to win main event. At the hallowed high-banks on Friday evening, R.J. unfortunately could not advance into the $5,000 to win feature event after finishing ninth in his heat race and eleventh in his B-Main.

When the action really heated up at the 1/2-mile facility on Saturday, a whopping $100,000 top prize was on the line. R.J. ran ninth in his heat race and eighth in the C-Main, but later won the C-Scramble to earn the $1,000 winner's check. He was then added as an alternate to the tail of the B-Main, but could only move up to a thirteenth place finish, which unfortunately kept him out of the 100-lap crown jewel extravaganza.

Rod and Delmas Conley were also in action over the weekend, but further south in the Buckeye State of Ohio. On Friday night, Rod won his heat race at the Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio prior to placing second in the final finishing order of the $1,500 to win main event behind only winner Josh McGuire. At the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday evening, Rod put forth a strong effort in the $2,000 to win show and finished third behind only victor Jackie Boggs and runner-up Ben Adkins. Delmas was also in the pit area at PRP and crossed underneath the checkers in the sixth spot following the conclusion of the A-Main.
