We have always run a 32 gallon tear drop fuel cell and this year we decided to get a 28 gallon BWRC fuel cell. We always ran 25ish gallons to start the feature and that is what we have been doing with this cell as well. What is happening though is the car starts off fast and than about halfway thru a feature it falls off and the car gets tight in the center. We have hung 25 lbs of lead on the tail of the car because this fuel cell is about 6 in further ahead. Any suggestions? I really want to scale with both fuel cells and see the difference but we have not gotten that far yet. Driver thinks the issue is somewhere else but we always got faster as the race went on when we had the tear drop.

when fuel burns off the car gets tighter??? try starting the feature with it full and maybe take some nose weight away. Also did both fuel cells sit centered? If not then when fuel burns off you could be gaining or loosing left side weight. loosing left would tighten center

It starts shoving the nose on throttle. The tear drop was centered but this fuel cell is narrower so we have it all the way to the left. The 25 lbs we added is right behind the fuel cell and it is all the way to the right on the tail.

so when fuel burns off you are loosing left side weight. more weight on right side adds side bite and will shove nose on throttle in center. If you can i would center the cell and take the weight off or add it in the center in front of the cell

That cell makes the car tighter because it moves the weight forward and lessens the pendulum effect and lets you turn the center better without swinging the rear out. You'll either need to go back through your setup and make the car freer or put the old cell back in. JMO
