FORT PAYNE READY’s FOR SUPER LATE MODEL “FIRECRACKER 50” $3,000 to-WIN COMPLETE CASH

(Fort Payne, AL) 6/18/2013 --- Super Late Model racers from around the region are expected to challenge one another in less than two weeks for the 6th annual “FireCracker 50” at Fort Payne Motor Speedway, Saturday night June 29th. Complete Cash Discount Title Pawn is presenting the $3,000 to-Win event that will take to center-stage for a 50 lapper paying a minimum $300 to-Start the “A” Main Feature race. Fans have time to prepare, for this big event at the 3/8’s mile clay semi-banked dirt track that should draw a good field of competitors. A big fireworks show is also scheduled to salute the crowd for a pre-4th of celebration

The Marvin Ford promoted facility has seen multiple winners of the event beginning in 2008 when Acworth, Georgia second generation racer “Fast” Frank Ingram pocketed the winnings. The defending race champion is the driver of the # X of Cassville, Georgia Tyler Millwood. Fellow Georgian Tony Knowles holds the current Track Record at 13:97seconds. Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, Tennessee pocketed the $2,500 in 2011, with Jake Knowles winning in 2010. Reigning NeSmith series champion Matthew Turner of Dawsonville, GA won the event in 2009.

Already in 2013 drivers such as Robert Gant, Bobby Pruitt and Tom Maddox have visited SLM Victory Lane at the Fort Payne Motor Speedway. A barrage of local racers are all expected to compete for the “FireCracker 50” title including; Lucas Burns, Chris Beck, Donald McIntosh. With the Southern All-Star series not in action a couple of touring regulars from the area might be in action, as Jason Heitt and Brett Holmes could enter competition. Tennessee’s Todd Morrow has had success at Fort Payne in recent years, while another Alabama favorite Tim Busha has been dominant in recent weeks.

Tire rule for the event is Hoosier SPEC .21-SPEC .55 and Hoosier 1350, 1600. American Racer MD 48, MD 56, Goodyear G40. All Must Punch 48 hardness at all times. Tires must have all numbers and name on the tire. No Grinding off the numbers or names. Any tire that has been altered will be illegal. Local divisions scheduled to see action include the Sportsman, A & B-Hobby, Pony & FWD. Prices are $30 in the Pits and $15 in the Grandstands children ages 12 and under are free with an adult purchase. Pit gates will open at 3PM CST with the drivers meeting set for around 7PM.
