CARTERSVILLE, GA - Effective immediately NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Technical Staff has announced there is an update on the Chevrolet Performance Parts CT400 (604) valve spring update released June 12, 2013, and have issued the following Technical Bulletin:

604 Valve Spring Technical Bulletin #2

After a long conversation with officials of Chevrolet Performance Parts, NeSmith Dirt Late Model Series officials were informed of a miscommunication internally, and the series were given some wrong specifications. On the 604 cylinder head, Manufacturing specifications call for the heads final machine work to have a minimum install height of 1.780” minimum.

Therefore the corrected install height is 1.780”, with the install seat pressure being 98lbs. +/- 5 pounds. Please note the chart below. The only specification changing is the install height, and seat pressure. This will be rule going forward which should make the conversion even simpler for race teams and engine builders.

“We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused teams,” NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Competition/Technical Director Tim Sims said. “As a series we strive to put out the most current and correct information that is available to us, and we hope this update gives a clearer picture of the new Chevrolet Performance Valve Spring specification. If there are any questions regarding this matter, they can be directed to me at 334-864-0805 or 256-794-4047.”
