Scott James Grabs Podium Finish at Florence Speedway; Heads to Bulls Gap on Saturday

(BRIGHT, INDIANA) The Warrior House Car team and driver Scott James competed in a pair of events from June 12-15 at the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana and the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. On Wednesday night at Brownstown, the UMP Summer Nationals tour rolled into the 1/4-mile facility to sanction their $5,000 to win season lid lifter. Scott timed in sixth quickest in his group during qualifying and was battling for a transfer spot in his heat race when an incident sent him spinning to a seventh place finish. With damage to his own #1G car, Scott took a provisional to gain access in the 40-lapper and wheeled Tim Prince's #P1 machine. He moved forward briefly in the feature event before ultimately retiring in the seventeenth position.

After a few days to make repairs to their Warrior mount, the team invaded Florence on Saturday for a $2,000 to win program. Scott was credited with a second place finish in his heat race and later started from the inside of the third row in the main event. The Bright, Indiana ace sported a fast racecar during the A-Main and wound up third in the final rundown behind only winner Jason Jameson and runner-up Greg Johnson. Complete results from these two races can be located online at www.brownstownspeedway.com and www.florencespeedway.com.

The #1G team will now turn their focus to a single event this upcoming weekend, as Scott plans to be in action on Saturday, June 22 at the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. The Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) will roll into “The Gap” to sanction a one-day show, which will boast a $3,000 winner’s check.
