Josh McGuire Pockets $5,000 for Black Gold 50 Runner-Up; Heads to Skyline/PRP
(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team stormed into Beckley Motorsports Park in Prosperity, West Virginia on June 14-15 for the 'Black Gold 50' weekend. On Friday night, Josh McGuire timed in seventh fastest during qualifying, ran third in his heat race, and later wound up tenth in the final rundown of the $2,000 to win tune-up race.
In Saturday's 'Black Gold 50' program, Josh laid down the sixth quickest lap during time trials and later placed third in the $600 to win dash. During the course of the 50-lap, unsanctioned main event, which boasted a hefty $10,000 top prize, Josh was able to advance up to second to finish a strong runner-up behind only winner Zack Dohm. Two more races will greet the #41 team this upcoming weekend (June 21-22) in the Buckeye State of Ohio. Josh plans to invade Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio on Friday night for a $1,500 to win program, while Saturday’s $2,000 to win show at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio will wrap up the doubleheader weekend.
