R.J. Conley Cashes $2,000 for Portsmouth Win; Conley’s All Head Back to PRP on Saturday!

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Conley Motorsports, Inc. tackled the Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio, the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio, and the Beckley Motorsports Park in Prosperity, West Virginia on June 14-15. Rod and R.J. Conley both started their weekend on Friday night at the nearby Southern Ohio Speedway, as a $3,000 top prize was on the line. Rod qualified well, won the dash, and later placed third in the 30-lapper behind only winner Jackie Boggs and runner-up Jason Montgomery. R.J. won his heat race in preliminary action, but suffered a flat tire during the unsanctioned A-Main and eventually was placed eighth in the final finishing order.

On Saturday evening at Portsmouth, the brothers both entered a regular weekly show. R.J. laid down the fifth fastest lap during qualifying, won the dash, and later led from flag-to-flag in the feature event to claim the $2,000 winner's check for his second triumph of 2013. Rod grabbed another top five performance for the weekend, as he crossed underneath the checkers in the fifth position at PRP.

Delmas Conley, the patriarch of the racing Conley family, traveled to Beckley for the 'Black Gold 50' weekend. On Friday, Delmas nabbed the fifth transfer spot in his heat race before retiring early from the $2,000 to win main event in the twentieth position. In Saturday's 'Black Gold 50' finale, the Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer fought brake issues and was unable to transfer into the $10,000 to win, 50-lapper. All three Conley Motorsports, Inc. drivers will converge on the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio this Saturday evening, June 22.
