CARTERSVILLE, GA – There are four NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division races on the Week 13 schedule of events with Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS hosting a Friday night event, and the highlighted Saturday night race will be a $1,000-to-win event at Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL.

Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will present its first-ever NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division race on Saturday night, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS will also host a Saturday night event.

Trey Bright of Coker, AL leads the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings and he has the second-highest Weekly Point Average, or WPA, among the Top 20 drivers in the standings. Bright has 526 points and a WPA of 47.82 out of a possible 50 in 11 weeks of competition.

The WPA is used as a gauge to tell “Who’s Hot” among the Top 20 drivers in the point standings. The 27-week NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division season consists of two hills, and it starts at the top of the first hill. Competitors go downhill and reach the bottom of the first hill at the halfway point, or Week 14.

The second half of the season is an uphill climb to the top of the second hill. The muscle used to determine who has the best chance to climb the hill faster is called the Weekly Point Average, or WPA. As drivers in the Top 10 of the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings reach the 14 week threshold, drivers behind them in the standings will still be earning full points until they hit the 14 week mark.

The WPA is calculated by taking a driver’s point total up to their 14th week of competition divided by 14, or the number weeks they have competed prior to their 14th week. Once a driver reaches their 15th week of competition, they will begin to net points by replacing the lowest weekly point total among their top 14 with a higher one. A perfect WPA is 50.

As the season progresses, and more drivers in the Top 10 of the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings reach the 14 week mark of their season, drivers in the second ten, or 11th through 20th in the standings, will begin to climb up the list while they earn full points. There are four drivers in the second ten of the point standings that are among the Top 10 drivers on the WPA list.

Bright holds a six-point lead in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Point standings over Dave Nations of Raymond, MS. Nations has 520 points and the fifth-highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in the standings at 47.27 in 11weeks of competition.

Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL is third in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 507 points, and is sixth on the WPA list at 46.09 in 11 weeks of competition. Wayne Medders of Morton, MS is fourth in the standings with 440 points, and has the eighth highest WPA at 44 in ten weeks of competition.

Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS holds the fifth spot in the standings with 423 points, and he has the ninth-highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in the point standings at 42.3 in ten weeks of competition. Chad Hiers of Ocean Springs, MS is sixth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 404 points, and has a WPA of 40.4 in ten weeks of racing.

Roger Flynn of Denham Springs, LA is 11th in the standings with 333 points, and has the third-highest WPA at 47.57 after seven weeks of competition.

Adam Cheeks of Guntown, MS is 16th in the standings with 285 points, and has the fourth-highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings at 47.5 after six weeks of racing. Randall Horton of Moulton, AL is 19th in the standings with 267 points, and has the seventh-highest WPA at 44.5 in six weeks of competition.
