Tungate Scores Hat-Trick and Wins $3,000 at Lake Cumberland Speedway

Burnside, KY-June 22, 2013- Lake Cumberland Speedway would present a $3,000 to win special for Super Late Models on Saturday evening and Tim Tungate of Campbellsville, KY would pick up his third straight win in the division at the speedway and collect a $3,000 payday. Other division winners included Tommy Gregory of Monticello, KY in Modifieds, Tim McMullin of Bronston, KY in Road Hogs, and Charles Burton of Somerset, KY in Four Cylinders.

Tungate would lead the entire distance of the $3,000 to win Super Late Model main event and score his third straight win of the season aboard the J&L Motorsports owned Wilson Plumbing/Dale Petty Well Service/Murphy Oil and Well Service/Brown’s Blacktop Sealing and Striping/Barnes Auto Sales/Sexton’s Logging and Trucking sponsored #18 C.J. Rayburn Race Car powered by a Dale Meers Race Engine. Skylar Marlar would nip at Tungate’s heels throughout the event, but would settle for runner-up honors. Victor Lee would score a third place finish, while the final two spots in the top five went to Todd Coffman and Rod Carter, Jr. The remainder of the top ten were Steve Elliott, Josh Davis, Dennis Barton, Johnny Wheeler, and Ben Petrey.

Tommy Gregory would outduel Jimmy Payne to get the win in the 20 lap Modified main event that saw Gregory drive his El Cazador Mexican Restaurant/Undertaker sponsored #44 Lightning Chassis to his third win of the season at Lake Cumberland Speedway. Payne would finish second, while Stacy Decker, Virgil Parriman, and Bryan Clements completed the top five.

Tim McMullin, a former track champion, would finally get to victory lane by capturing the Road Hog main event in his #M17 entry. Lee Branscum would drive his machine home to a second place finish, while Doyle Hibbard, Johnny King, and Phillip Anderson rounded out the top five.

The Four Cylinder feature would see Charles Burton visit victory as he captured the three car feature event over Eddie Strunk and Paden Watson.
