The Southern Regional Racing Series will head to Duck River Raceway Park for the start of the 2nd annual SRRS Summer Showdown. The SRRS super late models will compete in a 40 lap main event that will pay $3,000 to the winner and $300 to start. The SRRS event will also feature heats and a “Quick Dash” for drivers locked into the event to determine their starting position in the feature. This event will also feature a $700 to win Modified Street race.
Last year’s event saw 36 cars sign in on Thursday night with Todd Morrow taking the $3,000 pay day. On Friday night, the SRRS had 24 cars do battle for the $3,000 and once again Todd Morrow took home the SRRS victory. Last year’s Showdown saw Todd Morrow, Ray Cook, and Dustin Linville go to victory lane during the Fourth of July weekend.
Michael Page, Riley Hickman, Dane Dacus, Jackie Boggs, and Chad Ogle are already winners on the SRRS tour this season. Join us on Thursday night to see who joins the ranks of these drivers.
SRRS title contender Jason Welshan will be in attendance as he tries to strengthen his points lead over 2011 SRRS champion Josh Putnam. Rookie of the Year competitor Ryan King is also looking to gain some points on Putnam and Welshan . All drivers will be looking for their first SRRS victory of the season this Thursday. Drivers such as Steve Casebolt, Brandon Kinzer, and Ray cook will also try to capture the $3,000 along with other notable regional drivers.
The Southern Regional Racing Series will be collecting money for the Jason M. Neely Foundation Race 2 Cure Parkinson’s at the Showdown events this season. Please donate what you can. Donation jars will be set up at SRRS souvenir table. Any amount of money is welcomed.

Gates open at 4pm, Drivers Meeting at 6:30pm and Racing to start AT 7pm CST.General Admission will be $17 Kids 6-12 $5 (Kids 5 and under Free) Pit Admission will be $30, Kids 6-12 $10 (Kids 5 & Under Free).
