Eriez Speedway “ROAR by the SHORE” Race #2 Wild Racing Spectacle Ends the Different FASTRAK Northeast Touring Winner’s Streak at Four

(Hammet, Pennsylvania) – The FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring Division visited the 3/8th mile Eriez Speedway located between the towns of Hammet and Erie in “The Liberty State” of Pennsylvania for a $2,000 to win feature in the final night of the FASTRAK/Sweeney Cars $16,000+ “ROAR by the SHORE”, Thanks also to Pittsburgh Circle Track Club for visiting as well, presenting plaques to feature winners.
The weather was hot, temperature in the upper eighties, but the racing was hotter with tight action in each event. Max and Rob Blair once again accomplished the Father/Son perfect night on a race night that had been postponed from Father’s Day, each winning both their heat and feature events and leading every lap along the way. Max Blair taking the checkered flag Sunday night at Eriez Speedway ended the streak of 4 different winners in 4 FASTRAK Northeast Touring events.
“The Best of the Best” of FASTRAK Pro Late Model competition started the 30-lap FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring Division Series feature with Matt Latta, a tour winner in 2012 on the pole and Chad Wright, a winner at Eriez earlier in the season and the current points leader outside. At the end of lap one it was the reigning FASTRAK World champion and current FASTRAK Northeast leader Max Blair holding the lead. Khole Wanzer spun sideways in turn one at lap three, collecting Al Brewer for the first caution of the event.
On the restart it was Blair inside with Latta outside the front row but Wayne Robertson came to second by the end of the lap and Wright was third a lap later. Wanzer got his second charged caution at lap six allowing Robertson to be alongside Blair for the restart. At five to go Blair led Robertson by only a car-length in traffic but Robertson could not mount a challenge. At the end, in traffic, Robertson was right on Blair’s rear bumper but Blair was the winner. Robertson was a class act driver and wouldn’t put the bump in run or try to push Blair up the track for the win.
They raced each other with respect until the very end then got out of their cars shaking hands and laughing. Kyle Zimmerman and Bobby Rohrer both got by Wright to finish third and fourth with Wright falling to fifths at the finish. #11 Bobby Rohrer took it top shelf after starting the feature deep in the back of the field getting up on the wheel and moving successfully to the 4th finishing spot.
