Marion Center Speedway Having a Stellar 1st Season under FASTRAK Racing Series Sanctioning in 2013

(Carnesville, Georgia) – When the racing season approached quickly an announcement was made that FASTRAK Companies International had acquired the historic Marion Center Speedway in Pennsylvania to the list of many FASTRAK sanctioned tracks for 2013. The legendary facility, which was opened in 1966 by Dave Potts and still run by his family, provides a smooth glass like surface every Saturday night from April until September.
They have a had a stellar 2013 racing season hosting the FASTRAK Pro Late Models on a weekly basis after years of doing their own thing and it’s paying off successful and shows. Every Saturday night they have averaged around 15 -20+ pro late models and it’s growing week after week. They are also excited and ready for July 27th to get here as the FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring Division will be in the house to take on the ¼ mile for the 1st time ever with a $12,000 purse on the line paying $2,000 to the winner in the 2nd leg of the FASTRAK Northeast Summer Sizzler – Triple Crown.
Marion Center began its 47th Anniversary in 2013. The gates and concession stands open an hour and a half before the racing begins at 7:30pm. One night’s program consists of racing 7 divisions: Lias Tire Super Late Models, Force, Inc. Steel Block Limited Late models, Q-102, ¾ Scale Late Models, W. G. Satterlee & Sons Street Stocks, the Willow Farm Campground Strictly Stocks and the new Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic FASTRAK Pro Late Models.
The 1/4 mile dirt track oval is located on the top of a hill, just off PA route 119, 3 miles north of Marion Center and 10 miles south of Punxsutawney at 484 Potts Road, Marion Center, PA 15759 . The track was built in the fall of 1965 with the first races in the summer of 1966. The business has been owned and operated by the Potts family (Dave, June, Rich, and Janet) ever since.
