Smoky Mountain Speedway Ultimate Race cancelled July 6th due to inclement weather

MARYVILLE, TN (July 6, 2013)—Due to lots of heavy rain that has pounced the 4/10 Mile facility of Smoky Mountain Speedway over the last three days and more looming skies and rain showers forecasted for the rest of the day and into the rest of the weekend, the Management Team of Smoky Mountain Speedway along with Ultimate Series officials have decided to cancel tonight’s racing program. A rain date between both parties wasn’t immediately determined but will be released upon completion of securing a suitable date which will hopefully be made by this coming Monday.

The next event for Smoky Mountain Speedway will be Friday Night July 26th as Ray Cook’s Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals invades Smoky Mountain Speedway for the second-time for a 53-lap $5,300 to win event. Last year saw an exciting battle brew between Chris Madden and Mike Marlar with Marlar coming out on top and claiming the event win after passing race leader Chris Madden in lapped traffic. Sure to be another can’t miss event coming up in just a few short weeks.

Racing action for Smoky Mountain Speedway includes the hosting of other special events throughout the 2013 season including: Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series, Ray Cook’s Spring Nationals Series, Ray Cook’s Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series, American Modified Series, World of Outlaws Late Model Series, United Sprint Car Series, Southern Regional Racing Series and the Ultimate Late Models.

The Smoky Mountain Speedway is located at 809 Brickmill Road in Maryville, TN 37801. The track phone number is (865) 856-8989.
