Conley Motorsports, Inc. Eyes Lucrative Area Events Following Rain-Soaked Holiday Weekend

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Conley Motorsports, Inc. had a huge four-race extended weekend planned for July 3-6 in the states of Ohio and Kentucky, but Mother Nature had a much different picture for the weekend. On Wednesday night, brothers Rod and R.J. Conley ventured north to the Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned 'Budweiser 50.' Rod timed in fourteenth fastest in Group A during the qualifying session and later placed sixth in his loaded heat race. Following a second place run in his B-Main, "Hot Rod" started nineteenth on the grid in the $10,000 to win feature event. He eventually retired early from the 50-lapper and was credited with a seventeenth place performance.

R.J., on the other hand, laid down the second quickest lap in Group B during LOLMDS time trials prior to capturing the second transfer spot through his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the fourth row in the 'Budweiser 50,' R.J. was unfortunately hampered by a broken throttle spring, which caused him to make an early exit and settle for a twenty-third place effort.

Delmas, Rod, and R.J. Conley were then all scheduled to take part in the $10,000 to win 'Independence 50' at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio and the $5,000 to win 'Hatfield & McCoy Feuding 50' at the 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky to close out the holiday weekend. Unfortunately, heavy rain showers wiped out the racing action at both facilities. Complete results from last Wednesday at MCS can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

With R.J. Conley off on vacation this week, Delmas and Rod Conley will be left to carry the Conley Motorsports, Inc. flag. Rod will start his busy week tonight, July 9, at the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky, as the UMP Summer Nationals tour will sanction a $5,000 to win program. Delmas and Rod will then both be in action on Friday, July 12 in the $6,000 to win ‘Southern 50’ at the Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio and on Saturday, July 13 at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio in a regular weekly showdown, which boasts a $2,000 top prize.
