Josh McGuire Runner-Up at Southern Ohio Speedway and 201 Speedway Last Weekend!

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire and his #41 team rolled into Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio on Friday night, July 12 to kick-off their doubleheader weekend. The 3rd Annual 'Southern 50' was held on Friday at SOS and a $6,000 winner's check was on the line. Josh timed in second fastest during the qualifying session and later placed third in his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the fourth row in the unsanctioned 50-lapper, Josh was able to blast past six competitors on his way to a stellar runner-up performance behind only race winner Jared Hawkins.

On Saturday evening, July 13, the JMR team had plans of defending their 'Butterball Wooldridge Memorial' title at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky, but a heavy downpour sent them to 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky instead. Josh laid down the second quickest lap during the time trial session prior to taking home the win in heat race action. During the course of the $1,500 to win weekly main event, the Grayson, Kentucky ace slid back a few spots early in the race, but made a last lap charge to claim another runner-up effort behind only victor Chris Combs. Full results from both weekend races can be accessed online at www.southernohiospeedway.com and www.201speedway.net.

As of press time, Josh has only one event on his upcoming weekend schedule. The driver known as “Bad Fast” will pull into Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky on Saturday, July 20 for the rain-postponed ‘Paul Wooldridge Butterball Memorial.’ The unsanctioned, one-day event pays $7,500 to the winner and $750 just to start the feature. Josh is the two-time defending race champion and will vie for his third straight victory in the prestigious race this Saturday.
